We had our anatomy scan today and couldn’t be happier to announce IT’S A BOY! I can’t explain how good it feels to refer to the baby as “Him” and “His” now instead of saying “he/she” and “it.” Ry and I are so glad to be starting off our family with an older brother to protect all the rest to come! :) Cannot wait to see how much he looks like Ryland. Here is an overview of the perfect day we had today:

{Step 1: Check the calendar and drink 40 oz of water—Plan on not peeing for the next hour and a half, superwoman.)

{Step 2: Borrow a sweet ride: 1989 GT MUSTANG, so you are ridin’ in style!}Our baby boy’s first portrait (before we knew he was a boy!)…11 weeks, 4 days.

{Step 3: Check out that baby!}

Heartbeat: 136 bpm. Has a brain & 4 limbs—5 fingers on his left hand, not sure about the other hand…Below is our baby’s newest portrait…19 weeks, 3 days. He is so handsome already :) I totally know that he looks like everyone else’s ultrasound picture around this many weeks BUT he is ours so—his picture is extra special.During the ultrasound, our technician said “that looks like a package to me!” Ryland was afraid these photos would be brought up when our son is in high school so, we decided not to share the crotch shot…Just believe us…he is a boy!!!

{Step 4: Lunch at my favorite restaurant, Chili’s!}

{Step 6: Tell the Family & Friends the big news!}
