My bare feet pounded fast against the pavement as I raced in the pouring rain to retrieve their getaway car. I drove it around the parking lot and reentered the reception venue with dripping hair to strap camera gear back on for Logan and Bryan’s sparkler exit. In that moment I felt a reaffirmation in my heart that I was made for this.
I love weddings because there are these incredible moments that you can’t unsee or un-feel.
I can’t get enough of the tears of relief and joy when Bryan and Logan finally saw each other as husband and wife for the first time. Her sister’s surprise baby bump. A cancer-fighter walking her down the aisle. A man in a wheelchair holding nothing back to Bye-Bye-Bye by “N’Sync” at the reception. A transplant donor who saved his mother’s life, invited as a guest of honor, joyously spinning his own beautiful wife on the dance floor. What a blessing. Many times I feel too small to witness, let alone record, such incredibly deep life-giving moments; but I am blessed to be able to.
Logan and Bryan, congratulations and THANK YOU thank you thank you for inviting me to photograph your amazing day!
