Midnight at the beach//St. Augustine Photographer.

It was 11pm last night when Ryland jumped out of our bed and gazed out the window at lightning bolts lighting up the clouds of the dark night sky. “Katie—THIS IS AMAZING, you have to see this!” I am not AS infatuated with the weather as he is. In fact, I don’t really care about the weather unless it is threatening to rain on our wedding day parade, when I am photographing weddings. “Let’s get the camera and go to the beach!”…an intriguing idea, but it had taken all the motivation/inspiration left in me that day to just get out of bed to look out the window. Next thing I knew, I had thrown on my sweatpants and glasses (which by the way, are not an up to date prescription-a photographer with bad vision, that is a funny thought) and we were heading to Vilano Beach. Unfortunately, the lightning had almost completely stopped shocking the clouds when we got there….but we did end up getting some cool shots…This looks like daytime but don’t be fooled!…I love the stars in the sky and the ocean waves blurring together with the sparkling sand. Beautiful! It almost looks like you could lay out! After it stopped lightning-ing, we got creative with our flashlights and it was so much fun! Here is my favorite one…Ryland, I love our love story and I love getting up in the middle of the night to go do random things. You make me laugh and you make me live. And, of course, you make me love. I love you!
