Congratulations MR. AND MRS. PALMER! Emily and Joe moved from Virginia Beach, VA to St. Augustine last year with Izzy and Oscar, their two adorable little dogs. They have such a cute family!  It is such a pleasure getting to know Emily and Joe. They are both so kind and SO much fun…certainly another match made in Heaven! I am blessed to meet such great people all the time and witness the romance and affection they have. The spirit of Emily and Joe’s wedding day was amazing and endearing. While a lot of couples get caught up in the details and never ending to-do lists, (You should have seen me before I walked down the aisle a few years ago!), Emily and Joe were both calm and excited just to marry each other. They radiated joy and love for each other. Nevertheless, Emily did do an amazing job planning the details! She even made a spreadsheet for EVERYONE involved to know when and where they were supposed to be for what. haha! I love organized brides!

One of my favorite moments of their wedding day was Emily’s Dad’s speech. He just overflowed with joy over who his daughter was and is. The speech was five minutes full of explaining how delightful it was to watch Emily grow up. It was so special watching him smile and reflect. Emily and Joe’s wedding was over a month and a half ago—-I have done 3 weddings since then—-and I can still remember something Emily’s dad said that really grabbed everyone’s heart: He explained that while growing up, his mother said to be “particular”; not careful or smart, but “particular”. Emily’s dad passed on the gesture by telling her to be particular, especially when it came to guys. At the end of his story, Emily’s dad invited Joe to the family by saying that Emily HAD been particular and that is how she found this amazing man. Such a cute story. Great speech Mr. Hicks!
